CMS Customization
I love playing with code. These projects were based on themes or templates, with an option to inject my own custom CSS. I have worked with WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Etsy and Volusion.
Shopify: Olivia Garden
I was hired to rebuild the website of this high-end retailer in the beauty industry, converting their informational, static website into an eCommerce website so they could move from a wholesale only business model, which required reps and ordering in quantity, to a retail business model, where smaller salons and individuals interested in their products could buy direct. Since the launch of their new retail shopping site, revenue increased by over 200K in approximately 2 years.
WordPress: 11+ sites to date
WordPress is one of the most popular and powerful CMS platforms out there today. I have been building websites on the WordPress platform for over 10 years. The format is familiar, the support is strong and extensive, and the open source nature allows for a myriad of brilliant plug-ins to be built by developers everywhere, to help your website do just about anything you want it to. It integrates with many other platforms such as Google Analytics, MailChimp, Paypal and Magento. I recommend WordPress to many of my clients.
Volusion: Adore La Vie
My very first eCommerce site was built on the Volusion platform, which at the time was no easy task. These types of customizable CMS websites were relatively new, and still had a loooong way to go before they became easy for the average user to work with. Very clunky building tools with very little support. These days, just about anyone can make a good looking site. But I loved the challenge, and I also loved helping business owner Amanda Boyd move forward with her dream. The store is now wholesale only, and the Adore La Vie line is carried in major retailers around the country.
