When Communication Arts Magazine recruited me for a one year contract to build an entirely new online competitions website, they were concerned about designing an online experience that their community of artists and designers would find easy to use. The challenge was that many of these users were accustomed to submitting their designs to CommArts' competitions analog style - through the mail. Many of these users were the opposite of tech saavy - they were afraid of it. So my challenge was to help design an experience that was foolproof, and at the same time easy to follow as well as easy on the eye.
